I got the wild idea to make Mil a birthday cake. I remembered seeing this (free login required for the full version) on PBS and took to it. It turned out great. Now we just need to share the calories with friends.
oh, it does look delicious. although my favorite trick is to put in these kind of requests to my mother-in-law on our monthly visits. "and this is the cake i would like to have and eat too. thank you, thank you very much."
p.s. we drive a subaru that smells like a long abandoned, small wet dog stashed in the glove department. (the sun roof leaks, very unfortunate.)
